Working in Partnership

We have established excellent partnerships throughout the community which enable us to extend the range of opportunites for all young people in our care

Working with Parents
We believe that it is essential to have a good working relationship with parents and carers if students are to achieve well within Hameldon Community College. Parents can contact the College to make an appointment at any time to discuss issues of worry and concern. Communication with home is also vital if we are to work together effectively as possible.  Newsletters celebrating the College’s success and highlighting issues of interest are produced regularly.  Our College Website is being developed to be as interactive as possible, enabling parents to access reports on their children and regular email alerts enable important messages to be received at home as soon as possible.

As well as regular Parents’ Evenings and Review Days our Parents’ Forum enables staff and parents to meet to discuss topics concerning the life of the College.

Working with the Community
As a Community College Hameldon takes great pride in working in partnership with the local community.  This is seen most readily where we work with local Primary Schools and other Colleges within the Burnley Learning Partnership.  The Plan also has a wider community element where we work with adults to develop business, entrepreneurial and scientific skills through the delivery of specialised courses and a programme of themed events.

As a Community School we are open in the evenings and holidays providing sporting and recreational facilities for the local community.
